The General Billy Mitchell Awardees were Cadet First Lieutenants Jason Lapre and Robbert Olson. The General Billy Mitchell Award is the second milestone achievement in the CAP Cadet Program, and marks the transition for cadets into the commissioned officer grades, where they begin to learn and practice management skills and responsibilities. Cadets who have earned the Mitchell Award are eligible for advanced pay grades if they enlist in the US Air Force or Coast Guard, and are also eligible for advanced credit in leadership laboratory classes if they choose to participate in Air Force ROTC in college. Additionally, Cadet Captain Jonathan Moorman was presented the Amelia Earhart Award. The Earhart Award is third milestone achievement in the CAP Cadet Program. It marks the transition for cadets into the senior officer grades, known as the executive phase. Only 3% of all cadets reach this level of the cadet program. Cadets who have earned the Earhart Award and continue on to participate in Air Force ROTC in college may be granted advanced credit in their leadership laboratory classes.
